A new solution has been introduced for those wishing to make their dream come true and ready to save money meticulously – the Housing Account. The program provides a special bonus for those who will keep the account, systematically saving over a period of 3 to 10 calendar years, and then buy a property.

Who can open a Housing Account?

The account can be opened by a person who:

  • Doesn’t have an apartment, a single-family house or a cooperative right to a dwelling or a single-family house.
  • Lives with at least two of his or her own or adopted children in a single owned dwelling.
  • A person with a right to an apartment that he or she acquired by inheritance in the period after the start of saving.
What are the rules of the program?
  • Minimum monthly deposit – 500 zl (6 thousand zlotys per year), and maximum 2 thousand zlotys (24 thousand zlotys per year).
  • Each year 1 month vacation from saving without consequences.
  • Possible deposits in different amounts.
  • A minimum of 11 deposits during the year in the amount of at least PLN 500. If you don’t meet this condition in one year, you can still get the bonus the following year, as long as you meet the condition of 11 deposits.
What kind of property can they buy by participating in the program?
  • purchase of their first apartment
  • purchase or construction of a single-family house
  • financing part of the cost of a housing cooperative investment or establishing a cooperative housing right
  • housing contribution in a housing cooperative
  • participation in a SIM or TBS
  • acquisition of ownership of a landed property or part thereof for the purpose of building a single-family house on it.

A housing bonus will be granted to each saver every year. It will be paid once at the end of the savings period. Its amount will be calculated based on one of two indicators:

  • The average annual inflation rate published by the Central Statistical Office or
  • The arithmetic average price of 1 m2 of usable floor area of a residential building announced by the Central Statistical Office for the 4 quarters of the year of account maintenance for which the bonus is calculated.

An index more favorable to savers is to be selected each year.
