LAGO ALTO – COMING SOON

June 1, 2021

Drown in soothing green. Look at the blue surface of the lake. Take a deep breath and feel at home … At the house of your dreams … Away from the big city bustle, in the vicinity of nature, and at the same time close to the city center. This is Lago Alto – an intimate housing estate that will be built on Lake Wysocki in Gdańsk Osowa.

Wysockie Lake is a charming reservoir located on the border of Gdańsk. The border between the city of Gdańsk and the Żukowo commune runs through its center. Thus, the eastern shore of the lake is within the administrative boundaries of the city of Gdańsk, and the western shore of the Żukowo commune. The border refers to the historical division – at that time half of the reservoir belonged to the abbots of Oliwa, and part on the side of Chaszczyna to the bishops of Włocławek. For many centuries, the lake was referred to as Wittstocker See – from the Wittstock settlement, meaning Wysoka – now it is part of the Osowa district.

The gutter shape and highly marked edges indicate the postglacial origin of the lake. The shores of the lake are covered with dense rushes with, among others, water manna, broad-leaved cattail, pennywort or venomous moss. In Wysocki Lake there are bream, tench and roach, rarely carp, pike and perch, which is why the Stanica of the Polish Angling Association has been active here for the summer. It is worth noting that Lake Wysockie is often confused with the neighboring Lake Osowskie, which is located further from today’s Osowa than Lake Wysockie.
